How You Can Send More Handwritten Notes – And Why You Should!

It hasn’t even been a year since I took the (scary!) plunge into blogging. My very first blog post was all about starting new things when you’re over 40. And here I am again, launching another new adventure: all about handwritten notes!
I am so excited to announce the newest member of the This Custom Life family: This Custom Thanks! My husband Craig and I acquired a four-year-old business called Thankbot over the summer and just completed a rebrand and relaunch as our first business expansion.
To be clear, we weren’t looking to buy a new business. And we certainly weren’t looking for more things to do with our free time. We both have very busy careers, kids to spend time with, I run this blog, and we love to travel.
But we’ve also had many discussions centering on a long term vision of growing the This Custom Life family, so when we came across this business, we couldn’t believe our luck. We immediately saw its potential and it’s an absolutely perfect fit with This Custom Life.
I started This Custom Life late last year as a way to help provide readers the tools to build their own “custom lives.” Whether your particular challenge is planning a trip, finding ways to give back, or balancing your family dynamics, life gets crazy and overwhelming for all of us sometimes.
We all do our best to block out the noise and slow things down so we can put together and balance our own custom experiences and dynamics along the way. My mission is to help you do that – in the most positive, uplifting manner.
And what is more uplifting than being thankful? Whether directed towards a family member, a dear friend or a business partner, gratitude helps you maintain a positive outlook on life.
So growing a business based on gratitude was a no brainer for us. Here are all the basics on This Custom Thanks. I really hope you’ll head on over, check it out, and keep us in mind if you ever need help sending notes or saying thanks!
You Type It, We Write It.
When you’re sifting through your mail, what’s the one piece you open first? The handwritten envelope, am I right? Whether it’s a thank you note, outreach from your realtor, an invitation, or just a quick hello, we all love to receive handwritten notes.
But life is busy. Really busy. How many times have you thought to yourself, I should send a note to so and so to congratulate her on that new job. Or thank so and so for having me over for dinner. Or send some notes to network with potential clients or business partners. But you don’t have the time, the focus –or maybe even the handwriting!– to actually get it done.
That’s where This Custom Thanks comes in. For less than the cost of a Hallmark card, we will do all the work for you.
How Does This Custom Thanks Work?
It’s beyond easy. You go to our site, register for an account, and buy note credits. Then you decide on the style of note you want to send. You go to your account dashboard and fill in whom the note will go to and what it should say.
We do all the rest. We will write your note up, address and stamp it, and get it in the mail within 3-5 days. How simple is that?
If you want to use your own stationery, include a business card or a gift certificate then This Custom Thanks can do that for you, too, at a small additional cost.
Our notes are all 100% handwritten. By a human. No robots or handwriting fonts that try to fool you but you know aren’t real. We are real people who write real notes. For an authentic handwritten experience.
If you’re still wondering who in the world would pay someone else to write handwritten notes for them, let me tell you all the ways we can help you:
Business Notes
Our service is for businesses or organizations who want to develop new clients, thank current clients, or network with peers. Law firms, realtors, consulting firms, startups, universities, associations. You name it.
We can help any business that has a client to thank, recognize, or solicit. I can’t think of any situations where clients or potential clients don’t appreciate the personal touch of a handwritten letter.
But in case you still aren’t sure how you’d use notes for your business, here are a few ideas:
- A note to tell a potential client it was nice to meet them and you hope to stay in touch.
- A meeting or interview thank you note.
- A thank you for attending a conference or fundraiser.
- A note inviting a potential client to an event.
- Corporate holiday cards and gift enclosures.
- An apology note in the unfortunate event your service wasn’t up to par.
Life Events
Life’s big milestones are major celebrations for sure, but each and every one has the potential to totally explode your to-do list. And when that happens, it can be overwhelming and take away from your enjoyment. Truly, how much do you dread sitting down to write thank you notes after a big event? It can be daunting and time-consuming.
This Custom Thanks can take these tasks off your hands so that you can stay in the moment. Here are a few ways we can help:
- Thank you notes for:
- Bridal shower gifts
- Wedding gifts
- Baby Shower gifts
- Graduations
- Party hosts
- Condolences
- Professions of love (yes, seriously!)
- Holiday cards
- Give our services to a bride- or mother-to-be. What an awesome bridal shower gift for the bride to know she won’t have to spend hours and hours writing thank you notes!
Our This Custom Life family is here to help you live your most fulfilling life amidst all of the complications thrown in your way. We want to help simplify things for you and give you the tools to make building your best “custom life” just a little bit easier.
I’m so thrilled that we can now offer you this service. I hope you’ll check out This Custom Thanks and consider us when you need help getting notes done!

Cameron
Sad that people don’t do it themselves anymore but how wonderful you have a service that can do it for them! It must feel so great writing those notes knowing someone is going to love to open it!
Thanks, Darlene! Yes, we love being able to do this. Keep handwritten notes alive!! 🙂
This is so creative! I still get happy whenever I get cards with handwritten messages in them! I have two hanging in my cubicle at work!
Thanks so much! We are excited about it and hope it will provide a great service to people who want to send notes!!
